5. Father Lantom's Death (Episode 10, "Karen")

Poor Father Lantom. He was certainly one of the most likeable supporting characters in Daredevil, but his number sadly came up when he sacrificed himself to save Karen's life after Dex attacked the church in his faux-Daredevil outfit.

It results in one of the series' most poignant and genuinely affecting deaths, all the more so considering Matt's rather uneasy relationship with Lantom at this point, and the bond he began to share with Karen.

Sometimes charming supporting characters are offed for easy, cynical emotional impact - looking at you, Joss Whedon - but this one felt completely earned and organic to the story.
