2. Direct Ties To Season 1
One of the most interesting tidbits revealed via set photos from the upcoming season is that Matt Murdock is going to once again don the all-black, homemade crime-fighting suit he used in the very early episodes of the show. Obviously, since then he's acquired a far sturdier red costume that's more inline with the comics, so it's a mystery as to why he'd discard that for the upcoming season.
These photos could indicate that the latest story will flash back to the early days of Murdock's crime-fighting career, perhaps even revisiting scenes from the first season. Even if the link isn't that direct, the new suit does suggest a back-to-basics mentality for the new episodes, eager to strip away the fat - quite literally - of the show's second run.
He probably won't spend the entirety of the season with the new (old) outfit, but the fact he's wearing it at all suggests Matt's ongoing relationship with his what it means to be a superhero will again be a major part of the narrative.
