We're now just a couple of weeks away from the start of Game of Thrones Season 6, and now the first clip and episode title have been revealed.

Appearing on Conan, Liam Cunningham, who plays Davos Seaworth, refused to give away anything about the fate of the 998th Lord Commander of the Night's Watch, but viewers were treated to a clip from the upcoming season. The footage, which you can see below, builds on the scene from the end of the trailer, which saw Davos unsheathing Longclaw before warning that he isn't much of a fighter.

Here, we see it's not the men in the room he's fighting, but that they're preparing for a showdown with the Night's Watch mutineers, led by Alliser Thorne. It's a pretty tense scene, with the highlight being the sight of Ghost clearly ready to tear the throats out of those who betrayed his master.

HBO have also revealed that the first episode of Season 6 will be called 'The Red Woman', which is a clear hint to Melisandre. The belief is that she'll be the one to bring Jon Snow back, so it would make sense if this scene was from that first episode, given Davos is protecting Jon Snow's corpse. The synopsis for the episode doubles down on the idea of death of Jon, reading:

"€œJon Snow is dead. Daenerys meets a strong man. Cersei sees her daughter again.€

That doesn't offer much we already know, as Daenerys will be taken to a new Khal, while Myrcella's dead body is returned to King's Landing. Still, it means we're getting a lot closer to the first episode airing, which can't come soon enough.

Game of Thrones Season 6 starts April 24 in the US, and a day later in the UK.
