As we already learnt, it has to be Hawkman or Hawkgirl who delivers the fatal blow to Vandal Savage, in order for him to truly be killed once and for all. So they track down an ancient dagger, a gift from Carter to Kendra in Ancient Egypt, and in the ensuing fight Hawkman uses it to stab Savage. Only he doesn't die, because while he can kill Savage, the dagger can only be used by Kendra. Of course. Savage then turns the blade on him, and Carter does die. Given that this was only the second episode, or the fourth overall we've had him in, it was hard to care. That's especially the case since the character was so flat, and there was absolutely no chemistry between him and Kendra. Still, they're supposed to be together, it's destiny etc etc, and he's died many times before, so obviously he'll come back. The question is how, and when? Can they travel through time to find his latest reincarnation? Can he even reincarnate now, or is that only possible when he and Kendra die at the same time, meaning that before he can come back Kendra also has to die?
