So, you go all the way back to 1975 in order to try and save the entire existence of humanity, and what happens? Criminals will be criminals. With the chance of stealing the Maximillian Emerald from Central City, Captain Cold has his own nefarious plan thats unbeknownst to all bar Heat Wave and Jax. The thing is, theres a lot more going on with Cold than mere petty thievery. It would soon become clear that Snart was stealing this prize so that his father wouldnt have to, meaning his dad wouldnt end up going to prison, meaning he wouldnt come out and beat his kids. It was certainly some hard-hitting stuff for a Captain Cold who was at one point deemed a regular villain-of-the-week. But then again, Cold is somebody who is far from a regular guy or simply a flat-out villain.
