DC's Legends Of Tomorrow Season 1: 15 WTF Moments From 'White Knights'

5. Language Inconsistencies

If you€™re going to do the whole €˜digestible translator€™ gimmick, at least have some consistency in how you handle it. It was WTF of Legends of Tomorrow to be all over the place when it came to this aspect of White Knights. When Ray Palmer first tests the pill out, we see him speaking English from his viewpoint but it being heard as Russian to everyone else. Fine, that€™s cool. Then when we€™re introduced to Volkstok and the rest of the Soviet-based characters, they€™re speaking in English with a Russian accent. So, does that mean that the digestible translator actually alters how you hear what people say as it flips from language-to-language on a whim, or is it a case that all of the Soviets here actually speak English for some reason, meaning that the translator wasn€™t needed in the first place? And then later on, Martin Stein takes the pill and speaks in Russian with English subtitles for a brief minute before then reverting back to speaking to English. The lesson of the day here, kids, is to not overthink things.
