DC's Titans: 9 Reasons It's Already A Dud

6. The Embarrassingly Awful CGI

Again this is another problem in most superhero TV shows: their budgets are tight enough that something has to give somewhere, and it's usually in the VFX department.

Titans mostly doesn't overdo it with the CGI, thankfully, but almost every single visual effect in the premiere looks rather rough.

For starters, there's Raven's naff-looking phasing effects, the blatant CGI fog pumped into Robin's first fight scene, some digital mountains pasted into the background of the "Vienna" sequence, and Starfire's video game-esque super-powered visuals.

The worst offender by far, though, is the embarrassingly ropey introduction to Beast Boy, who first appears as a CGI tiger that looks like it was thrown together in a lazy afternoon by an intern.

The effect when he transforms from tiger to human form is especially laughable, and typifies that this show clearly needs a bigger cash injection if it's going to do these characters justice.
