Doctor Who: 10 Most-Viewed Scenes On YouTube Ranked Worst To Best
Vincent van Gogh, the Tenth Doctor, or a fat green alien: who will win?
Are you a hardcore Doctor Who fan? Do you lie awake at night wondering what would've happened if Rory hadn't inspected that gravestone? Did you pre-order the 50th anniversary steelbook, even though you already own it on multiple formats? Can you no longer take celery seriously as an edible vegetable?
If you answered "yes" to any of those questions, then you're probably the kind of Doctor Who fan who spends an unhealthy amount of time on YouTube re-watching your favourite scenes. And you're not alone!
YouTube is that place we all go to when we want a fix of Doctor Who, but we don't have the time (or desire) to watch a full episode. From epic speeches to heartbreaking companion departures and the occasional TARDIS-destroying regeneration, we all have our go-to moments that we like to revisit, and nine times out of ten, Doctor Who's official channel is the place you'll end up after searching for a clip.
Focusing on that channel specifically, its top ten most-viewed scenes from the show is a curious mix of huge, all-time classic moments that'll be remembered for decades to come, as well as a couple of random entries that you might not be expecting.
So let's rank them! From worst to best. No surprises for what comes in dead last...
10. The Doctor Defeats The Abzorbaloff (Love & Monsters)
This list came so close to having no bad scenes on it, but the Abzorbaloff had to go and ruin everything didn't it.
This scene picks up with Peter Kay's naff villain chasing down his next victim, Elton Pope, through a series of back alleys. Just as Elton is about to be absorbed, the TARDIS materialises and the Tenth Doctor steps out, before the Abzorbaloff is melted down into a goopy mess after Elton snaps his magic cane.
Absolutely nothing about the Abzorbaloff works, and he's one of the worst villains in the Doctor's rogues gallery - whether you're talking classic or modern. Kay's humour doesn't land, the costume looks painfully cheap (it doesn't help that this scene takes place in broad daylight), and his voice sounds like someone attempted to autotune it, couldn't get it to work, and then just gave up halfway through.
A bad villain, a bad episode, and a bad scene. Yet, even in spite of this, it's managed to rack up a whopping 8.1 million views, making it the third most popular clip. We're guessing that there's an element of morbid curiosity influencing people's clicks here.
