Doctor Who Regenerations: Ranked From Worst To Best
The times they are a-changin'.
For Doctor Who fans, nothing is quite so bittersweet as a regeneration. Not only do you have to say goodbye to one Doctor, a man you've come to know and love over the course of his adventures, but you also have to say hello to a strange new face that you're somehow not quite sure of. The Doctor's habit of changing is one of the reasons fans love the show - a regeneration can often give the story a much needed shot in the arm and make for some interesting onscreen conflict. While this may be the case, fans are often worried that the change will be a negative one and that the new Doctor will never be your Doctor. However, one thing that can ease this transition for fans is if the outbound Doctor leaves in a scene which is in someway moving or memorable. The regeneration scene is a Doctor Who staple and is a key component of the wonderful eccentricities which make up the show fans love. This is why it's so important that those making the show get it absolutely right. The tenth Doctor's first regeneration won't be counted on this list, simply because it didn't involve a change of lead actor. So without further ado, click forward to take a look at some of the best (and worst) regenerations in Who history (so far)...
