Doctor Who Series 8: 5 Monsters We Want To Return

By Hayley May Phillips /

With Doctor Who series 8 planned for next year, fans have already begun speculating about what might be in store for them; who is Moffat going to kill-off-and-bring-back next? Will there be any new companions? And what monsters will return? There€™s no doubt we€™ll see either the Daleks or the Cybermen again, they€™re iconic and we can€™t really have a series without them. And hopefully, we€™ll get to see some awesome new ones too. But, have the Doctor Who crew considered bringing any more back from the earlier series? We€™re not thinking the heavily overused ones (need I even mention the Weeping Angels?) It just might be nice to see a revival of some of the old, underused monsters.

5. Krillitanes

The Krillitanes were introduced in the series 2 episode School Reunion. The focus of the episode was a little more on the reunion of Sarah Jane and the Doctor, hence the name, but despite this, these aliens still made an impact. But how could they return? Quite easily, really. They can transform into any race that they have defeated; taking their appearances and abilities for their own. We€™ve seen them as humans - who€™s to say they don€™t mimic some humans very well, taking on their appearances and acting out their personalities to aid their own plans for destruction? They could disguise themselves as celebrities, ancient royalty or politicians. They could even become the Doctor €“ he€™s not a human, of course, but he€™s humanoid. A Krillitane could disguise himself as the Doctor and hoodwink his companions into working against him: how would the Doctor cope alone?
