Carrie Coon
There's a fair argument to be made for pretty much any of these contenders, but I'd say Coon's performance in Fargo just about edges it (and not just because it'd make up for the lack of nomination for The Leftovers, where she truly deserves it). Her Gloria Bugle was an absolute standout of Fargo's third season, with her being one of the crutches the series increasingly leant on as it moved forward (the other being the aforementioned Winstead).
Who Will Win
Nicole Kidman
Although this category is stacked, with four Oscar winners in the mix, it's Kidman who has been getting the most attention (and claimed the win earlier in the year at the Gold Derby awards). Kidman gives a powerful performance in Big Little Lies, and a showier one than castmate Witherspoon, which combined with the love for the BLL cast as a whole should be enough to see her win.
