Should Win: Laura Dern
It's a strong group, but the work Dern does in The Tale is supremely affecting; she plays the part of Jennifer Fox, a survivor of sexual abuse, with a fair bit of restraint, and is all the more devastating for it.

Will Win: Laura Dern
Dern is an Academy favourite - she won this award last year for Big Little Lies - and it's a timely, powerful performance, which combined with her work in Twin Peaks should be enough to give her the edge over Biel and Dockery.
