2. Jennifer Coolidge Battles The Play-Off Music

Stifler's Mom won herself an Emmy! That's right, the inimitable Jennifer Coolidge scooped a well-earned Outstanding Supporting Actress (Limited, Anthology Series, or Movie) gong for her sublime performance in The White Lotus.

But what most viewers were left talking about was how graciously - and hilariously - Coolidge decided to battle the producers' play-off music.

Rather than speed up her thank-yous and slink off the stage, Coolidge held her ground while shouting "This is a once in a lifetime moment!," and then started dancing on-stage to the music.

The live crowd lapped it up, and given that Coolidge's moves quickly went viral, evidently so too did everybody watching at home.

This is the sort of fun, organic moment that the Emmys and awards shows in general are sorely lacking in favour of cringe-worthy, laboured "skits."
