Every Game Of Thrones Spin-Off Currently In Development
6. House Of The Dragon
In 2018, George R. R. Martin published Fire and Blood, a vast and extensive telling of the history of House Targaryen. From Aegon I, who landed in Westeros 300 years before the events of Game of Thrones, to Aegon III, the history penned by Archmaester Gyldayn delves into the details of the first 157 years of the Targaryen dynasty in Westeros.
This book will be the basis of the first Game of Thrones spin-off, House of the Dragon. Starring Paddy Considine as Viserys Targaryen, the Prince whom Daenerys' brother was named, Matt Smith as Daemon Targaryen, and Eve Best as Princess Rhaenys Velaryon, this show is guaranteed to follow in the same footsteps of death, destruction, and dragons as Game of Thrones itself.
If anything, this series will feature more of the legendary beasts than ever before, with it being set in a time when most Targaryen's each had a dragon to ride and call their own.
This is the only one of these series that is currently officially in production, and has the potential to be something truly special. It could well be down to the success of House of the Dragon in 2022 whether or not the rest are ultimately taken any further.
