Every Kaiju Confirmed To Appear In Netflix’s Godzilla Singular Point So Far

6. Godzilla

Let’s get the obvious one out of the way first.

Despite only briefly appearing in the teaser trailer, Godzilla himself is slated to appear in the show, assumedly in a predominant role. Due to Godzilla being the namesake for the classic Toho franchise, he is often the most predominant kaiju to appear in the majority of Godzilla media. The small amount of premise provided in an article by Deadline states that the main characters of Singular Point will “take on an unprecedented threat”, which presumably will be Godzilla and the other kaiju.

Godzilla appears towards the end of the teaser trailer, engulfed in a thick red mist that is seen throughout the trailer around the different kaiju. We do know from the poster that he will keep the same basic design seen in the Toho versions of the character. This is welcome news, as the one time this design was drastically changed - in TriStars’ 1998 film Godzilla - it was poorly received by fans of the franchise.

The most notable design change we can see from the teaser trailer is the addition of a set of large fangs which seem to be situated slightly higher than his main row of teeth. A common theme in the design changes seen throughout the teaser trailer are that the kaiju are more extenuated, rougher and more vicious in appearance that their original Toho counterparts. Another very welcome note seen in the teaser trailer is that of Godzilla’s ‘Atomic Breath’, which has been a trademark of the King of the Monsters for decades.
