Built upon the popularity of YouTube personality Miranda Sings (played by Colleen Ballinger), Haters Back Off didn't quite enjoy the same success as its web-series predecessor.

Centring on the family life of Sings - an untalented performer who seeks fame on YouTube - the show received fairly mixed reviews and a muted response from fans, but was nonetheless renewed for a second season (this happened before Netflix really started cancelling shows).
Season 2 will expand further on Sings' life, pulling from things that actually happened to Ballinger, and introduce her father too.
