Based on Russian movie The Major, Seven Seconds will be an anthology crime drama that aims to explore the human stories behind the headlines.

The drama kicks off with the death of Brenton Butler, a black teenager from Jersey City who is run over and killed by a white police officer, sparking racial tensions, an attempted cover-up, and a huge trial. Veena Sud has created the show, with American Crime's Regina King starring.
