7. John Walker - The NEW Captain America

Right at the end of the episode we got to meet the supposed new Captain America.

Stepping out to waiting fans, he greeted us with a jammy grin and a horrible sly wink. It seems that the showrunners are instantly trying to manufacture the audience’s disdain for this newcomer - and it’s working.

Though he wasn’t actively named in the episode, we know that this is the comics’ U.S. Agent, John Walker.

We don’t know the exact angle the MCU is going to take with him yet, but what we do know is that right now he’s a nasty piece of work. It will definitely be interesting to see what he turns out to be.

In his very brief appearance you may have noticed a great little Easter Egg in his costume. On his helmet, his logo is a blend of the star and the ‘A’ - the two symbols employed by the previous Captain America.

Whilst Steve has been seen using one or the other in the comics, this is the first time we’ve seen the two blended together to give us this funky new logo. Furthermore he appears to be carrying a firearm, something seen in the comics before when Bucky undertook the Captain America title for a time.
