Last month, Family Guy returned to our screens for a remarkable 12th series. Very few would ever have thought the 20th Century Fox show would reach such a landmark. Cancelled in 2003 and put on a two year hiatus, many thought they had seen the last of Peter Griffin and co. However, following its revival in 2005, the adult animation has gone from strength to strength, spawning a spoof "film trilogy" and even a video game. Family Guy and its cast have also been nominated for thirteen Emmy Awards, with four wins, proving that the show - and its characters - warranted the renewal. Of the characters, none stand out more so than Glenn Quagmire, Peter's often-creepy neighbour and all-round pervert who stalks the women of Quahog on an almost frequent basis, leading to often-hilarious outcomes. Voiced by show-creator Seth MacFarlane, Quagmire is one of Family Guy's funniest characters, even though the show's writers make it plainly obvious he is in fact a rapist with innumerable sexual fetishes. But it is his reviling persona - and catchphrase "Giggity" - that makes him shine in what is already a dark comedy consisting of a resident paedophile and various other deviants.
