Fear The Walking Dead: 10 Mistakes The Show Can't Afford

9. Don't Rush The Character Development

Let's face the blunt truth. Zombie films and TV shows are fairly limited, they're full of gore, a broken civilisation, and riddled with cliches. The Walking Dead's success is largely down to the fact that it is a series and the character development has been handled very well. Essentially, TWD fans actually care when a character dies because they have invested in them for hours. Their journeys have been traced and lives have unfolded in front of the audience, so a death is a real loss. While zombie flicks do work, films can only spend a maximum of a couple of hours learning about the main characters. TWD had time to delve into their minds, and Fear must follow in that sense.
