21. The One With All The Thanksgivings (S5E8)
The Episode
Told predominantly through flashbacks, the gang remember their worst Thanksgivings. Chandler loses a toe, Monica is called fat, and Phoebe is in a war zone.
Why It's Great
Flashback episodes are also a treat, likewise Thanksgiving ones, so it makes sense that an episode combining both of those elements would be an utter delight.
It's always great to see the show go back to the 1980s and the fashion - and hairstyles - of the gang. It also develops their relationships though, in particular Monica and Chandler's. Her cutting off his toe is wonderfully silly, his calling her fat is really harsh, but in the end they're together, and for the first time Chandler tells her "I love you" - while she's wearing a turkey on her head, naturally.
And then, of course, there's: "More turkey Mister Chandler?"
