She was officially cast as Catelyn Stark before being replaced by Michelle Fairley after HBO ordered a full reshoot. The King's Speech actress almost certainly wasn't the direct reason for the first effort falling flat on its face, but you can tell the show-runners went in a far more contemporary direction for the medieval show, just by looking at the original promotional image for Thrones.
