Game Of Thrones: 10 Best Characters Who Appeared After Season One

10. Tormund Giantsbane

Game of Thrones' debut season kept the mystery of the Wildlings behind closed doors (or giant magical walls, if you will), making you think of the Free Folk as absolute monsters. But eventually, you learned that they were more than that.

Tormund first came along in season three and was mistaken for the King Beyond the Wall (Mance Ryder) by Jon, proving just how striking this giant was at first glance.

This character was quickly a fan-favourite as his fighting skills, combined with his unkempt look and confidence, made him barrels of fun. Although he didn't trust the bastard Stark boy at first, he eventually became a good friend to Jon and an essential player in the battle against the White Walkers.

He was also one of the first characters (save for another coming slightly later, hint hint) who put a face to the Wildlings and showed that they were more than the backwards savages the rest of Westeros seemed to think they were.

Plus, who could forget his attempts to woo "The Big Woman"?
