Game Of Thrones: 10 Huge Questions To Consider Before Season 7
10. Is Melisandre Gone For Good?
Melisandre – also known as “the Red Woman” or “that weird lady who likes to burn little children alive” finally proved her worth as a conduit for the Lord Of Light in season six, resurrecting Jon Snow after his brutal assassination. Of course, everyone remembers the time she birthed a shadow baby, but since then it had been tough wondering whether or not she was nothing more than a crazy person.
But her magic works – and if Mel herself is to be believed, that means the Lord Of Light is very real too. The implications are pretty huge, making Jon Snow The Prince That Was Promised, the great liberator from the hell currently engulfing the world. What an unfortunate time, then, for her to be exiled from the North. The question is: is she gone for good? The way Game Of Thrones is shedding characters in the lead up to the last couple seasons, it'd be understandable to assume her role is complete.
Yet the show is no stranger to death, and the fact that she's alive and merely “banished” is curious. Where might she wind up next? With the return of Beric Dondarrion and the Brotherhood Without Banners, is it possible Melisandre will find her way there? After all, Thoros is also a Red Priest of the Lord Of Light. Regardless of what happens, it's tough to believe Melisandre would merely just wander off never to be seen again.
