As these early images have shown, it looks like Season 6 will be introducing a whole bunch of new locations to the series, and here's yet another one that should be pretty interesting. HBO has announced that filming for Game of Thrones will be taking place at the Castell de Santa Florentina in Spain. They'll be filming there from September 9 until September 22, so it definitely has some greater significance than just a few exterior shots. 

Production at this castle will also overlap with filming taking place in Girona, which stands in for King’s Landing, so that suggests nobody who would normally be at King's Landing would be at this new location. What could this one be then? Some have speculated it'll be Horn Hill, the seat of House Tarly located in the Reach. That's in between the Wall and Oldtown, so it would make sense for Sam to stop in there on his way and for the show to give viewers a bit more information about the Tarly, a family viewers know very little about beyond Samwell himself.

Season 5 was relatively light on major new locations other than Dorne, but from these early announcements and photos, Season 6 should have plenty to offer in that department.
