3. Sand Snakes

These were always going to feature highly, weren’t they? In the end, the three of them grab medal places, only bested by two of the most revolting characters in the show’s history.

Introduced to us during the ill fated Dorne storyline, the Sand Snakes weren’t the only ones tarred by Jaime and Bronn’s adventure to the desert region. Most of the characters there never delivered on their potential, with the whole plot arc too disjointed and slow.

Most of the other characters had the good sense to at least stay in Dorne. With the Sand Snakes though, no dice.

In a way, you almost feel sorry for them. For the same show who gave us brilliant female fighters like Arya and Brienne to botch three exotic assassin sisters so dramatically is nothing short of spectacular. Armed with a whip and a spear, the sisters clearly offered something unique, but Game Of Thrones struggled to really find out what.

There was demonstrably no plan in place for them afterwards either. Cersei's kiss of death ranks as one of the show's coldest moments, but that one set piece doesn't justify their arc at all.
