Winter isn't coming. It's already here.

Oh, Game of Thrones. You sure know how to play with your audience's emotions. After four previous seasons of fans being taken on a roller coaster ride, you'd think David Benioff and D.B. Weiss would give the show's fans a break, but that wasn't the case as they put even more of their cast through the ringer.

While Season 5 of the critically-acclaimed HBO series didn't quite reach the heights it did last year in terms of action, death and destruction, it still had plenty of moments that had fans screaming in support or swearing at the television in anger. With the show over until next year and people's blood pressure and stress levels after the final episode finally starting to lower, it's time to take a look back at the show's most shocking moments.

From Sansa Stark's very uncomfortable time with the Boltons at Winterfell to a certain icy villain giving the ultimate 'come at me bro' look to Jon Snow, here are the best and most harrowing moments from the past ten episodes.

If for some reason you've spent the last 10 weeks living under a rock and have no idea what happened during this season, it's safe to say that there are going to be a lot of spoilers from the very start.

10. The Betrayal (And Redemption?) Of Reek

It's hard to feel any sympathy for Reek/Theon Greyjoy. He brought his current predicament on himself after all and he's been relatively entertaining as Ramsay's torture toy. However, when Sansa was brought to Winterfell, most thought this would provide him with the chance to redeem himself for the many wrongs he'd done in the earlier seasons.

Sadly, he didn't do too well with his first opportunity. In fact, after Sansa begged him to put a candle in the highest tower to signal to Brienne that she was in need of help, he instead snitched and told Ramsay. What a scummy, scummy move.

However, when he really had to step up and save Sansa from an arrow to the chest he did the right thing and pushed Ramsay's other lover over the edge of a building and jumped on to the snow with Sansa so they could leave Winterfell. Now, whether or not the two survived such a high drop is something you'll have to wait for next season. Until then, let the fan theories explode all over the internet.
