Game of Thrones: 10 Storylines So Boring They'll Put You To Sleep

Believe it or not, a show with dragons, giants and ice-zombies can, very occasionally, drag a bit

Game of Thrones might be the best show on TV at the moment, and is deservedly considered one of the finest television shows of all time. With over 100 characters, it's hard not to fall in love with at least a dozen of them - and nearly all of the rest will have you raging at the screen as they cheat and manipulate their way through the political labyrinth of Westeros. In this sense, it's impossible not to be engaged. But therein lies the show's major weakness. Every character needs a storyline, they must all serve a purpose, and as the show was always intended as a long term project, many of these story-lines are yet to pay off. Sure it'll be great when they do, but from time to time the show gets stuck in exposition, or in giving fair screen time to all of its major and minor characters. Some characters might have a major influence on the fate of the Iron Throne, but perhaps not until the end of the show. While the writers are usually clever enough to push the plot along before viewers lose interest, they can get dangerously close to pushing it too far. The show is a true classic, there's no doubt, but that hasn't stopped it being guilty of sending the audience to sleep with these 10 story-lines.
