Back in season one, the head of the Karstark House - Rickard - appeared very briefly when Robb Stark called for his bannermen to march South to rescue his father.

Obviously Karstark had a difficult time of it after the end of season 1, as when he returned he was noticeably older with a thick grey beard and thinning white hair. He was also played by an entirely different actor, in the shape of John Stahl.

He was a good choice for the more impulsive, wounded figure who defied Robb Stark and murdered Martyn and Willem Lannister and was executed for his defiance.
