6. He Is Azor Ahai

The prophecy says that in a time when the long winter descends itself upon the world once again, R'hllor will send over a hero who wields a burning sword named Lightbringer. This hero would rise against the Others/White Walkers, but should he be defeated, the entire world shall fall with him. This hero is Azor Ahai.

So it's generally between Jon Snow, Daenerys Targaryen, Stannis Baratheon and in some odd cases, Ramsay Bolton.

However, with Jon dying (no you don't KNOW he's coming back, do you? sit down), Stannis looking like he's gonners - it's anyone's game now...  Hodor Ahai, anyone? Well it would definitely be a shocker.

Now, it might be a long-running joke on the internet, but what if George R. R. Martin pulls a fast one on us and makes Hodor the "Chosen One". 

To be honest we'd all just give up on the man (and the series) then.
