Game Of Thrones: 8 Huge Predictions For The Second Half Of Season Six

8. Olenna's Involvement In Joffrey's Death Will Be Revealed

Right now, Olenna Tyrell has manoeuvred her way into a surprising amount of power. Perhaps that shouldn't be surprising, however, given how cunning and persuasive we've seen the character be so far. While Cersei has been shamed by the High Sparrow and faces trial by combat, Olenna has seemingly escaped unscathed despite being directly involved with the murder of Joffrey. But not for long.

It makes sense. The High Sparrow's motivation is the confession and atonement of sins. Right now there's so much tension in King's Landing that it's boiling over into chaos is practically inevitable. In episode four, Cersei tells the Small Council of Margaery Tyrell's plan to confess to the Sparrow. It's this detail that convinces Olenna it's time to act with violence – she seems extremely concerned about what might be revealed. Of course, this could just be regarding Loras' sexual immortality. But there's also the small fact that she literally murdered the King.

It's clear the High Sparrow knows a lot more than he's necessarily saying, and if there's one thing Game Of Thrones is great at doing, it's creating tension and conflict. With Cersei, Jaime and the Tyrell's banding together to try and oust the Sparrows through violence, what better way to derail the entire plan than for the High Sparrow to tell Cersei the truth about Olenna's involvement with killing her son? Even if he doesn't know, it's possible Loras does, and at this point he's all but completely broken.
