Another from that stage of Season 2 where it had various storylines that weren't particularly engaging or moving anyway, The Ghost of Harrenhal has Jon continuing his adventures Beyond-the-Wall (which look great, but don't have too much substance at this point), and Dany spending more time in Qarth, spending some time with the über-creep Pyat Pree.

On a better note though, Arya and Tywin forge their strange but great relationship, Jaqen makes his first kill, and, um, Renly Baratheon is killed by a shadow, which somehow manages to work.

55. Blood Of My Blood (S6E6)

HBO

Written By: Bryan Cogman Directed By: Jack Bender

Benjen's back! And he's Coldhands! The long-missing Stark finally returned in Season 6, which is what this episode will be remembered for, and in fairness he does get to kill some wights in impressive fashion.

Mostly though the episode is just keeping things ticking over, with the return of Walder Frey, reports of the Blackfish taking back Riverrun, Jaime confront the High Sparrow, and then Margaery siding with the Faith, and Daenerys ripping off Khal Drogo's speech. All enjoyable enough, if nothing particularly special, but coming off the back of The Door we probably needed a quieter week.
