With the unenviable task of following the death of Ned Stark, Fire and Blood provides a great end to a superb first season of Game of Thrones.

Arya takes the first of many identities, setting up her entire arc of the show thus far, and we get the first chest-thumping KING IN THE NORTH scene, with Robb Stark crowned by his fellow Northerners.

If Ned's death was game-changing, so too was this episode's final moments, and arguably in a bigger way. Daenerys enter's Khal Drogo's funeral pyre, and emerges unburnt, with three baby dragons. Magic is back in Westeros.

19. And Now His Watch Has Ended (S3E4)

Olenna Tyrell gets a couple of excellent moments here, engaging in conversations with both Cersei and Varys, and that's always going to a highlight. Theon's escape is revealed to simply be a sadistic game being played by Ramsay Snow. And with the mutiny at Craster's Keep, the watch of Lord Commander Mormont comes to a close.

But really, it all comes back to Dracarys.
