Roose Bolton was a complex opportunist whose psychopathic tendencies were hidden under a reasonable, almost approachable demeanor. An orchestrator of the infamous Red Wedding and killer of Robb Stark, he was interesting to watch simply because he was so different to the show's other, more extravagant villains.

Unfortunately, he ends up on the bottom end of the rankings simply because he was so overshadowed by the other antagonists on the show - particularly his insane tyrant of a son, Ramsay.
