Game Of Thrones Finale: 8 Biggest Unanswered Questions We Have From 'The Iron Throne'
4. What Kind Of Ruler Will Bran The Broken Really Be?
After a convincing speech from Tyrion, wherein he preached the importance of Bran's knowledge as the keeper of Westeros' stories, Bran Stark is named the King of Westeros, crowned as Bran the Broken.
He's not the first king to bear that moniker - Aegon III was referred to as 'broken' because of his lack of emotion following the death of his mother and his brothers becoming lost during the Dance of the Dragons. The Unhappy King isn't remembered fondly, but he did what he could to bring peace and prosperity to the land, albeit allowing his brother, Viserys, to do a lot of the actual ruling. Will Bran be similar?
It's important that there's a difference in their lack of emotion: Bran isn't cold or unhappy, he simply just doesn't 'want'. That means he has no desire for power, which in turn should mean he's incorruptible, and that's a start. But then there's also a question of whether he can understand what the people want or need? He's essentially Game of Thrones' take on the Fisher King from Arthurian legend, and that didn't lead to a prosperous land.
Luckily Bran has a strong council around him - albeit people who've made a lot of dumb decisions - but if Tyrion can bounce back to his form of old and Sam can impart wisdom, then maybe he'll be alright.
