So now. Endgame. Just to recap all our pieces here. Jamie and Grey Worm are still in Winterfell leading the fight against the dead still coming over the walls. Dany is on the ground as well, being protected by what’s left of the unsullied.

Everyone who was in the crypts is still there plus Ghost and Sam. Jon is fighting his way into the courtyard outside the Godswood where Bran is and the Night King has just arrived.

Ok so here’s where the major ending change comes and credit where it’s due this is an idea I’ve seen doing the rounds in a number of places but the one who’s done it best is. I’d do it similar to that but a lot simpler. Theon asks Bran what they’re going to do.

Bran says there is only one thing he can do now, even if he fears it’s futile. Theon tells him whatever it is, he has to try, and he’ll buy him the time to do it. Bran tells him, again, he’s a good man, and his eyes roll into his head and Theon charges the Whites, it ends the same way.

Back in the courtyard we’ve got the same situation we had, Jon cannot get past Viserion. He tries, he’s beaten back, the dragon pins him behind some rubble and is looming over to him when we hear Dany shout the dragon’s name.

It turns to see her and engulfs her in dragon fire. Jon sees this and lunges his sword through its eye killing it. He looks but there’s no sign of Dany and he runs into the Godswood.
