"It seems really stupid."

Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, better known to fans as Jaime Lannister, has rubbished the idea of multiple endings to Game of Thrones being filmed to avoid spoilers.

Earlier this month, HBO's programming president Casey Bloys said more than one ending would be shot, so that nobody knows which one is real until it airs. That made some sense, given the high volume of leaks that occurred both before and during Season 7, but Coster-Waldau doesn't expect it to actually happen. In an interview with Marie Claire, the Danish actor said:

"Do you think that’s true? It seems really stupid to me. I mean if it’s true I don’t believe it … I haven’t read the script, so unless they will show several endings that could be a twist, they’re not going to waste that money. You’re not going to waste $100,000 a day to shoot something you’re not going to use. It’s not going to happen."

That doesn't explicitly rule it out, especially since he hasn't read the scripts or started shooting, but he's right that it would be a huge expense for material that won't be used. Then again, if it stops the ending from being leaked, it might just be worth it.

Coster-Waldau is often pretty great value in interviews, and that's certainly the case with this one (which you can read in full here). He also reveals his favourite person to shoot with is Gwendoline Christie, wants Jaime to die of old age (and farts), and hopes to shade Jon about his incest.
