9. Sansa Stark

Sansa’s development has been slow, it has seen her tossed from one frying pan to the next before landing in the fiery wrath of Ramsay Bolton. However, Season 6 has entirely justified the cruelties that have befallen her.

The eldest Stark girl is a genuine player in the great game, and it hasn’t come about due to a contrived storyline. She has organically grown into a fantastic character.

Sansa is really using her ‘key to the North’ status for good and it would take incredibly brave (and utterly stupid) writers to kill her off as she finally hits her stride.
