One of the very first scenes that sent jaws hurtling to Earth was Melisandre's revelation. She removed her necklace and the illusion dropped. She's seen as a withered old woman and so far there's no reason why.

Melisandre has barely featured considering how much was expected of her in Season 6. Yes, she brought the main character back from the dead and put him on course to reclaim the entire North back for the Stark family, but her screen time has been limited.

Who knows whether the answer is important, but there has to be a reason for Melisandre's transformation. Will Season 6 provide the reason?
