Cersei's trial by combat has been a simmering side-story for a while now but it all seems far too quiet to play a huge part in the final few episodes.

It feels a lot like a curveball is coming, but if a combatant is chosen to go against the Mountain, it simply must be the new-found Hound.

THAT is his purpose for returning. THAT is the reason the gods spared him on numerous occasions. However, it seems like a long shot for Sandor to make it back to King's Landing in time. Still, if the trial happens in Season 6, so too should the brotherly showdown.
