5. An Uneasy Frey/Lannister Alliance?

Next up, we go to The Twins, where Walder Frey is still at his bloody perpetual dinner table, making merriment while the world around him falls apart. Quite how this man rose to any sort of power when he’s always partying and his soldiers don’t have any armour is baffling.

Anyway, he calls back to the Red Wedding, like the true pig he is, only this time, it seems the Lannisters and the Freys are now in more direct cahoots. Are they really now equal? Jaime looks strangely happy to hear the words.

So why is Jaime here? Is he there to plot a response to Jon Snow retaking Winterfell? We know he’s not entirely happy that Sansa is alive, given her implication in the death of his son (but then he probably doesn’t believe that story anyway), and that Cersei will be even more annoyed.

He presumably doesn’t know what’s happening at King’s Landing either, since he’s not rushing back to chop off bits of the High Sparrow to stop the trial going ahead.
