Well, that's a wrap on Game of Thrones Season 6. The Winds of Winter brings to an end this year's run, and the Long Night begins again.
But oh my, what a way to go out.
Season 6 has already proved to be a great season of TV, but it saved its best for last. The finale traditionally just does some (still entertaining) tidying up after the bombast of episode 9, and setting things up for next year, increasingly with one big moment in there as well (Tywin's death, the Night's Watch mutiny).
The Winds of Winter did all of that, as it picked up the pieces of the previous episodes, brought to a conclusion various plot strands that had been running throughout the season, and left things in a tantalising place for Season 7. But almost every one came as part of an absolutely huge moment.
Wildfire, a big change in power, the show's biggest fan theory 99.99% confirmed, Dany finally doing that thing everyone's been waiting for her to do, Arya crossing a name off her list: it all went down, and it was great to watch. It wasn't a perfect episode, but it was as close as a season finale has come to being one.
