Game of Thrones Season 6: 10 Things That Absolutely Shouldn’t Happen
5. Iron Islands Sidelined
Please, Benioff and Weiss, don't turn the Iron Islands into 2016's edition of yawn-worthy Dorne. The latter location came loaded with so much promise; an entirely new location, an arid landscape, a new culture, a trio of beautiful, deadly assassins, a Jaime-Bronn buddy-style rescue mission, yet somehow it fired a blank.
Maybe it was the lack of menace from the Sand Snakes, the fight scene that wouldn't look out of place during a lazy Sunday afternoon nap-time, or the huge amount of time spent just to eliminate a Princess we barely know. It unfortunately just didn't work.
The Iron Islands are back in Season 6, bringing with them a few new faces for those who haven't read about Euron Greyjoy's wild antics in A Song Of Ice And Fire. It's more than fine if the creators choose to dedicate a lot of time to the Ironborn, but they absolutely must get it right, or they run the risk of besmirching a second side-location in as many seasons.
