6. Jon Turns Out To Be Azor Ahai

So far, we've been pretty well served when it comes to Game Of Thrones confirming theories. We already know that Benjen Stark is Cold Hands, that R plus L really does equal J and that Jon Snow would rise once more from the dead. There are, however, still lots of things up in the air, and though the show might even have seemed overly charitable already, another of those theories could be confirmed in season 7.

Namely, that Jon Snow is in fact Azor Ahai - the Warrior Of Light.

There's lots to suggest it's possible - even if it feels too good to be true. Melisandre's prophecy says he will have the blood of a dragon (Jon is a Targaryen), her visions have been mostly snow-based and Jon chose to return to the Night's Watch post over staying with his love, Ygritte, mirroring the original Azor Ahai and Nissa Nissa prophecy.

Even more compellingly, there's lots of evidence to suggest that both Thoros and Beric Dondarrion join his side in season 7, and the only way the self-proclaimed Brothers Without Banners would unite under a banner would be if they believed it was being carried by Azor. Sure, there's a suggestion that Beric himself could be Azor reborn, but the dragon blood element doesn't work, and there's nothing to say he won't hand over his flamey sword - revealed to be Lightbringer retrospectively - to its rightful owner when he meets him.
