1. So, Is Jaime F*cked?
You might not have liked that cliffhanger, but it at least feeds a little conventional drama into the Westeros machine (even if there's no way he died). And having him put in mortal peril was a good thing to do, even if it wasn't quite the right thing to END on.
Still, if he went down (he didn't, but let's entertain the fantasy), he did so reiterating how much of an incredible character he is. You know, aside from making Bran fly (in hindsight, entirely justifiable) and the rape (not at all justifiable).
He is quickly becoming the antithesis of his sister, who would not have gone back into the fray, and who would not have cared for her men. We would not have seen that battle from the ground-level, because she simply would not have been there. In short, Jaime deserves all of your love and admiration based solely on his actions in this episode.
Well, either that or he is just a massive idiot...
