Game Of Thrones Season 7 Finale: 9 Ups And 2 Downs From 'The Dragon And The Wolf'
5. Cersei And Tyrion
One of the great things the finale did was getting back to being about conversations in rooms. And no conversation in any room is likely to better one that involves Lena Headey and Peter Dinklage.
While the two have constantly been the best performers on Game of Thrones, in recent years they've been totally separate (if partly fuelled by the other's actions). This brought them back together for the first time for Season 4, and they both acted the hell out of it.
It was an absolutely delicious scene, with the pair constantly countering the other, suspense mounting, and emotional beats for both characters. It highlights how ruthless she is, but also confirms that she is indeed pregnant and will do anything to protect that child, which makes her a scary opponent. For Tyrion, we really get to address the weight of him being a kinslayer, but also how good (if flawed) a person he is (or tries to be).
And for both characters, you can see that raw hatred they have for each other, although Headey holds it back slightly (a clever move) to allow for Tyrion surviving and thinking she is working with them.
