Game Of Thrones Season 7 Implications: What "The Spoils Of War" Really Means

5. Missandei Is Not A Mole

In the wake of the last episode, there was some frankly ludicrous speculation that Missandei might be a mole, based on her interaction with Davos, which some read as him testing her backstory (and casting doubt by saying he didn't recognise her accent). If that was gathering any speed among the fans, it should now have been put absolutely to bed.

Missandei's speech was a beautifully written exchange, strong in sentiment and authenticity, and there was absolutely no hint in there that she is deceiving her queen. If there is a mole, it isn't her.

Crucially, the speech should also have strengthened the case for Jon to confidently bend the knee to Dany without fearing backlash from his Lords. Like Dany, he proved himself and was chosen, rather than inheriting his position because of who his father is. That could be the final motivation he needs to actually bow to Dany's request for the greater good.
