Brienne of Tarth, another of those purely 'good' souls in Westeros, surely has a big part to play in the war(s) to come. She is one of the finest warriors in Westeros right now, and has a Valyrian steel sword to go with her skills, meaning she should get in on the White Walker killing action when the time comes.

Pod, while he may be Westeros' greatest *swordsman*, isn't exactly a great warrior. But he is learning, and he's got Brienne there to protect him in the meantime, while Winterfell should be a safe location this season. You need someone to repopulate Westeros after the Great War - who better than Podrick Payne?

Prediction: Brienne definitely lives, Pod almost certainly does.
