Meera Reed is something of a unsung hero of Game of Thrones. While Bran gets to do all the cool sh*t like have visions and time-travel around, and probably save the world (after dooming it in the first place), she is always there, carrying him through the snow and providing crucial support.
It's unclear what will happen to her once Bran gets back to Westeros and his family though. If Bran is home, then what role does she fulfil in the story? She deserves the chance to do something 'more', and as she's a decent fighter could well help in the coming war - while there's a sense her death will, like her brother's, be in service of Bran's life (he'll still need someone to carry him and support him), and that's more likely to be necessary in Season 8 than 7.
