Game Of Thrones Season 7 Trailer Reactions: 7 Ups And 3 Downs

3. Tyrion Is Underserved Again

HBO

Tyrion only appears briefly in the trailer, although both scenes could be notable. One is him walking on the bluffs of Dragonstone, with Daenerys' dragons flying around him. The other is in Dragonstone's war room, as he and Dany survey a map of Westeros.

That's it, though, as far as the Imp is concerned, and really it's not enough. Given Tyrion usually gets all the best lines, it would've been nice to get a tease of one of them, but it also speaks to his current role on the show.

Although he had some good moments in Season 6, he was largely underserved, left to kick his heels in Meereen until Daenerys finally came back. He's an important advisor, but right now doesn't quite feel like the same level that put him as one of the three major characters of the show (along with Jon and Daenerys, who get more prominence here).

That's obviously part of the shift towards the endgame, and both of those characters becoming rulers, but hopefully Tyrion will get a lot to do this year. He is, after all, the show's greatest ever character.
